The functioning of the school band is under review and consideration given as to whether it can be sustained. The band is a terrific experience to have in our school and it offers students with musical interest and ability the chance to come together and learn to play an instrument and play as a collective group under the direction of a qualified tutor. Unfortunately, the only way we can sustain this program is to have it as a ‘user pays' system and unfortunately the school has had to underwrite the cost this year to the tune of thousands of dollars.
All parents involved with their children playing in the band are asked to bring their fee payments up to date or there is a very real chance the band will not be able to continue. We are looking at a new schedule of fees for the 2013 school year and trying to make it as affordable as possible.
