The Year of the Horse was the theme of this year's Wellington Show that went off in spectacular fashion just over a fortnight ago. Wellington Public School contributed to this year's festivities by creating a spectacular display of artworks based on all things Equine.
Colourful drawings, paintings, prints and 3-dimensional designs depicting show jumping, horseshoes, miniature ponies and even horse-themed carousels made for an impressive display of artistic talent.
Special mention should be made to this year's kindergarten classes who each produced a phenomenal amount of art for the display and from all accounts were a crowd favourite on the day.
In addition to the art display, a number of individual students from Wellington Public submitted entries into the Visual Arts competition, the Baking competition and the Fresh Produce competition. We congratulate all students who entered this year's show and encourage all students to participate in next year's festivities. Well-done WPS!
Thank you to all of the students who contributed to our school's show display, it looked wonderful. It goes without saying but the teachers too, all deserve a special "thanks" for getting their students to want to be part of such an important event.
