First Aid Certification

Professional learning is an expectation of all staff. There is a constant need for teachers, support staff and our school administration personnel to stay abreast of new sets of knowledge and skills necessary to perform their duties effectively.

Very often, this professional learning is consistent with our school management plan. We share Regional, and State driven goals when setting our school targets. These targets are best achieved at our school when the focus is placed on experiencing models of best practice and expanding our knowledge base and experiences.

Many of the changes being undertaken have a National input to produce transparency and consistency in what we achieve. We are about catering for the needs of our students, diminishing the gap between our higher and lower performing students and raising the overall standard into the proficiency bands in National assessments.

Technology is changing the face of teaching and learning as is the case of new business, management reforms being introduced by the Department of Education and Communities.

I am amazed at the dedication of our staff. Currently, the majority of our staff is engaged in a 16 hour course to maintain our accredited qualifications in First Aid. The certificate issued will satisfy WorkCover requirements. This is aimed at the overall welfare, safety and wellbeing of our students. The qualification will remain valid for three years.
