As your children begin their journey through Wellington Primary School, they will encounter "Sammy", "Reggie" and "Lenny". These three bees embody our core behavioural expectations which are:
Be Safe
Be Respectful
Be a Learner
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is a school-wide behaviour initiative. It employs a whole school systems approach to address problem behaviour and reduce its effects on student outcomes and on the school community as a whole.
PBL encourages positive behaviour from students, which has been shown to improve their self-concept and motivation to learn.
We collect and use behaviour data to inform our decisions and actions about behaviour management at the whole school, classroom and individual levels.
PBL aims to clearly teach students what behaviours are expected of them. It also allows us to develop a school wide consistent approach to behavioural expectations and consequences.
Positive rewards (Buzzies) are also used in the playground and classroom for children who are caught being safe, respectful learners.
