Anti Bullying Team Update

As a result of our most recent questionnaire "Have Your Say" it was clearly evident that parents would like to be better informed about the behaviour of our students. We operate a pink slip system to make notification about inappropriate behaviours. These behaviours are recorded on a school database for the purpose of tracking individual students. Students are usually required to attend a planning room session following their receipt of a pink slip so that they can reflect on their behaviour and discuss how they might have behaved differently. Receiving a number of pink slips may lead to a referral to the Learning Support Team for further action or come to the Principal for the consideration of a school suspension.

Parents will now receive a pink slip notification when their child has received one at school for inappropriate behaviour.  This needs to be signed and returned to the class teacher the next day, acknowledging that you have been informed and that you will discuss this with your child. No response will generate a phone call to ensure that parents have been informed. In partnership with the home, we are hopeful that we will see some of these offending behaviours diminish and eventually be eliminated.

The school alone can not own bad behaviour. Parents are asked to support the school because of poor behaviour both in and out of school.

This of course will not let us forget that the larger proportion of our students come to school to learn, are well mannered and are a reflection of responsible parenting.
