Under the Every Student Every School strategy and in accordance with the Disabilities Anti-Discrimination Act data collections are being analysed to identify students in need of significant support for them to engage with age/grade appropriate learning outcomes. Our Learning and Support Teachers are working with classroom teachers to make learning adjustments to best suit the developmental needs of individual students. This will mean that Personalised Learning Plans will need to be developed and the associated learning adjustments made in teaching programs.
There is an expectation that the development of these plans will need to start very soon because there will be a National audit in August relating to their implementation. Parents of students involved in the development of these plans will be invited to share in their development especially by giving teachers a closer insight into the idiosyncratic nature of their child's learning traits and interests.
Support from parents is essential in assisting to accelerate learning development.
