We are on track to have reports completed and printed ready for distribution to our families this Friday.
I am very appreciative of all the work our teachers and executive have committed to the planning, assessment and reporting phases of the learning cycle to be able to give parents valuable feedback on how their children are applying themselves in class.
Overall, I have been very impressed with the effort ratings because they show a large proportion of our students trying very hard and this is commendable. The teachers describe the outcomes individual students are achieving and these too, on the whole, are quite impressive. Thirdly, I can see an improvement in attendance. We do not seem to have quite the same high incidence of extended absences. The boys and girls who are making a big effort to attend school every day is very pleasing.
An invitation is extended to all parents to talk to classroom teachers in an interview situation. A schedule has been sent home to request suitable times next Tuesday.
Teachers are ready to add praise or where appropriate discuss any concerns they have in regard to application and the levels of progress being achieved.
We ask again, for all parents to value education and to help instil this in their children. We need all children to love learning and realise that a good education is a key to opening future success and their personal goals to be happy in life and to be prepared to use their positive work ethic to contribute to the community they live in. Children who maximise their time at school are the ones more likely to succeed.
