On 22ndAugust we held our School Spelling Bee finals and through an elimination process contestants were ruled out as the complexity of the words they had to spell increased. All class representatives were chosen as being the better spellers from their classes.
In the end two Junior and two Senior Champions were chosen to go on to the next level, the Regional level.
The Regional final will be held this Wednesday at Dubbo West Public School. The finalists at Region will go on to the State final in Sydney.
Our four Regional Representatives in the 2013 Premier's State Spelling Bee are: Shayarnee Burns, Erin McQuade, Laura Harris-Kelly and William Edwards.
The Junior competition will start at 9:30 am and run until 11:30 am and the Senior level will commence at 12:30 pm and possibly run to 2:30 pm. Contestants are asked to be present half an hour before their respective finals. Good luck Shayarnee, Erin, Laura and William.
