On Monday the 27th of October an afternoon tea was held to formally thank Wellington Public School's P&C for their generous donation of $2500 to the school library. With this money we were able to purchase 165 books to replenish the picture book section of the library. This year due to some fantastic literacy programs running in our school such as Daily 5 and L3, children from each class have been borrowing 1-2 books each week to read independently in their classroom. Introducing our 'frequent borrower cards' has seen an increase in the number of students borrowing books to take home. This great donation from the P & C has allowed us to put some great quality literature and well know authors on the shelves for the students to read. These books are now available for children to borrow for both the classroom and home.
Once again we thank the P & C for their generosity and allowing us to purchase a great selection of books for the whole school to enjoy.
