The school canteen provides a vital service to our students. We are extremely lucky to have a canteen that runs five days a week. This is because it is operated through the P&C and is able to sustain Diane as a paid canteen manager. Many schools have had to limit their canteen's operation and in some cases even close them down.
Like all canteens we need the assistance of voluntary labour and in our canteen there are very few who are willing to donate their time. The P&C work hard as does Diane and her limited staff and it would be really good if other parents would consider approaching Diane to volunteer their assistance, preferably on a regular basis.
The P&C have had meetings with the DEC's Assets Management and Public works to plan a possible upgrade. Everyone wants the canteen but no-one seems to want to help! Can you?
With limited staff it takes a long time to process lunch orders that come in every day. To be fair students and parents are asked to have all lunch orders placed at the canteen before 9:30 am each day. Late lunch orders will not be accepted after this time from the commencement of Week 7 (Monday, 9thMay, 2014.)
