This term our School will be starting a new program called PATHS (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies). These lessons will be conducted in the classroom on a weekly basis and will focus on themes such as friendship, feelings, thinking skills and problem solving. Some of the goals of this program are:

To help children think and solve problems for themselves.

To help children better understand themselves and others.

To help children be more aware of feelings.

To improve children's self esteem.

To help children learn more effectively in the classroom

environment.

Results from Schools that have been using the PATHS program have seen an improvement in the social and academic climate of the classroom and school and also show a huge reduction in behavioural issues in the playground and classroom. This program teamed with our existing PBL program aims to benefit our students in the same way.
