On Thursday this week Mrs Eather, Mrs Nicholas and Miss Mavis will be supervising a group of Stage 2 students when they walk to the John Oxley Reserve. In class the students have been learning about wet and dry environments and when they get to the Macquarie river they will be taking water samples and analysing the samples to see if they are sustaining living organisms and check to see that the river is healthy and free of pollution. This work will be in conjunction with the Western Local Land Services. The children should have a fun time and learn a lot about this important local river system. The follow-up work and the discussions they share should show all of the things they have learnt.
