Our P&C have been working towards upgrading the canteen facilities at our school. Luckily we have been successful in being offered a State funded grant to the value of $72 000. Today (Tuesday) we will be having a meeting with Public Works and Assets management to determine the best time for this work to take place and of course discuss the tendering process.
We approached Assets Management in the first place to ensure that our proposal would meet with Departmental Specifications and to determine what would be expected. Public Works were brought in to discuss the design changes as well as the overall scope of works.
It is anticipated that we will be trying to have as much of the work completed over the Christmas holiday period as possible. Tradespeople usually take a period of their annual leave at this time so we will have to see what we can arrange. It is likely that there will be some disruption to the canteen's service either before or after the end of year holiday period.
